McKittrick School Crowned Whiz Kids Champions at Annual Competition
Seventh and eighth graders from several rural Kern County School Districts came together on Friday, Feb. 23 to test their knowledge in math, science, history, and writing during the annual Whiz Kids competition, an Academic Decathlon-style event. The event concludes with a “Super Quiz” that questions students about a pre-selected novel. Participating schools included General Shafter, Maricopa, Piute Mountain, McKittrick, Midway, and Elk Hills.
