2026 Kern County History Day Results Announced

Monday March 9, 2026

Students from across Kern County showcased their research, creativity, and storytelling skills during the 2026 Kern County History Day competition held on Saturday, March 7. This year’s theme, “Revolution, Reaction & Reform in History,” challenged students to explore moments in history when change sparked powerful responses and lasting transformations. Students presented their projects in a variety of formats, including documentaries, exhibits, performances, websites, podcasts, and posters. The competition highlights months of research and preparation as students analyze historical events and connect them to the annual theme.

The following projects that scored well from the county competition are eligible to advance to the California History Day state contest, which will be held at Sacramento State University May 1–3.
