STEAM on the Streets Returns for Second Year at New Home — The STEAM Yard
Wednesday October 8, 2025
The excitement is building for the second annual STEAM on the Streets, and this year, the celebration is moving into a brand-new home. On Saturday, October 25, families from across Kern County are invited to gather at The STEAM Yard (2020 K Street) for a free morning of hands-on exploration, creativity, and community fun centered around Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

From 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., guests will enjoy interactive art stations, coding and engineering challenges, playful STEAM-infused activities, and plenty of surprises designed to spark curiosity in learners of all ages. Attendees can also look forward to free giveaways and an inspiring atmosphere that blends education with play.
The move to The STEAM Yard marks an exciting new chapter for the event. Officially opened earlier this year with support from Chevron, the innovative learning space was envisioned as a dynamic hub where students can ignite curiosity and explore future careers through hands-on experiences.
Since its launch, the STEAM Yard, has hosted drone flights, 3D design sessions, robotics labs, virtual reality explorations, and more — making it the perfect backdrop for this year’s event.
“The STEAM Yard was designed to bring learning to life,” said Program Coordinator Jamie Viveros. “Hosting STEAM on the Streets here allows us to share that same sense of wonder and possibility with families from across the community. It’s a space where kids can truly see themselves as creators and problem solvers.”
As the community gathers to celebrate, The STEAM Yard will showcase its role as a hub for NGSS-aligned field experiences, teacher resources, and career-connected programming, helping students actively explore fields like engineering, robotics, healthcare, and construction.
Families must RSVP at tiny.cc/steamonstreets25.
