Registration Opens for 26th Annual Kern County Teacher Recruitment Fair
Monday December 1, 2025
Registration is now open for the 26th Annual Kern County Teacher Recruitment Fair, set for Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Larry E. Reider Education Center in downtown Bakersfield. The event, hosted by the Kern County Superintendent of Schools (KCSOS), remains the county’s largest one-stop opportunity for individuals interested in beginning or advancing a career in education.

This annual fair brings together recruiters from school districts across Kern County, offering attendees the chance to learn about current openings as well as anticipated vacancies for the 2026–27 school year. Individuals who are fully credentialed, intern-eligible, or hold a bachelor’s degree or higher are invited to attend. Districts are seeking qualified applicants for a wide range of positions including multiple subject, single subject, special education, speech pathology, school nursing, and occupational therapy.
Several districts are also actively seeking Career Technical Education (CTE) teachers. Candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent and at least three years of industry experience in fields such as agriculture, arts and media, construction trades, business and finance, engineering, health sciences, manufacturing, and product development are encouraged to participate.
Event coordinator Evelyne Feliciano said the fair continues to be a critical resource for both districts and aspiring educators.
“Every year, this event connects talented individuals with districts that are eager to hire,” Feliciano said. “Whether someone is a seasoned educator, newly credentialed, or exploring a transition into teaching, the recruitment fair is the best place to learn about opportunities across Kern County.”
Attendees are encouraged to pre-register by January 29 at kern.org/trf. Those who pre-register will select a specific meeting time — 9 a.m. or 10:10 a.m. — and will receive one hour to meet with as many districts as possible. Walk-in attendees may check in beginning at 11 a.m., with admittance based on space availability starting at 11:15 a.m.
While resumes and credential documents are not required, KCSOS strongly encourages participants to bring copies to share with district representatives. Applicants who pre-register will also receive advance access to a list of potential open positions.
For more information, interested individuals may contact Evelyne Feliciano at (661) 636-4750.
