BCSD Celebrates Opening of New Wellness Center, Mobile Health Unit

The Bakersfield City School District (BCSD) celebrated the grand opening of its newest School-Based Wellness Center and Mobile Health Unit on Wednesday, Oct. 28, next to Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School in Bakersfield. The new Citadel Wellness Center is one of four locations offering free health and wellness services to BCSD students. Services include physical exams, immunizations, treatment for minor illnesses, individual and family therapy, case management, transportation assistance and connections to additional resources. By bringing essential health services closer to students and families, BCSD aims to remove barriers to care and ensure students have the support they need to stay healthy, succeed academically and be ready to learn.
